We are on a conquest. We have decided to team up again for a fifth straight year for the Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation. The event is a 2 day cycling journey through the Pacific Northwest region taking place June 15th & 16th, 2013.
In 2012 our team took a blow with the loss of one of our riders and teammates Jay Lynn (1960 – 2012), but that only made us more united, determined, larger and stronger in our fight against cancer. In total our 2012 team raised close to $134,000.00 and this year we are well on our way to exceed all expectations.
The Brainiacs participated in the 1st ever BC edition of the Ride to Conquer Cancer as a team of 8 riders. The team was formed by Brain Cancer survivors joined by some friends and has grown to include many others. 2013 will be the 5th year our team is participating in the event with over $333,000.00 raised in the previous 4 years. Our team has grown to include some more experienced riders and some first time beginners but we are all coming together for the common goal of raising funds in the fight against Cancer. We still have a number of team members who have survived or who are currently battling Brain cancer but we are also joined by others affected by other forms of cancer and supporters whose lives have been affected by cancer in many ways.
Please consider joining us or supporting this cause with a donation in support of one of our team members! This can be your opportunity to do something challenging and rewarding and you won’t do it alone. We will be doing training rides, helping each other to fundraise, and generating awareness for critical cancer research at the BC Cancer Foundation, a leader in cancer research and care.
